Product Description

If You Could Change Your Life by Reversing Your Biggest Regrets, Sorrows and Mistakes...Would You?

#1 New York Times bestselling author and renowned radio and television host Glenn Beck delivers an instant holiday classic about boyhood memories, wrenching life lessons, and the true meaning of the gifts we give to one another in love.

We weren't wealthy, we weren't poor -- we just were. We never wanted for anything, except maybe more time together....

When Eddie was twelve years old, all he wanted for Christmas was a bike. Although his life had gotten harder -- and money tighter -- since his father died and the family bakery closed...Eddie dreamed that somehow his mother would find a way to have his dream bike gleaming beside their modest Christmas tree that magical morning.

What he got from her instead was a sweater. "A stupid, handmade, ugly sweater" that young Eddie left in a crumpled ball in the corner of his room.

Scarred deeply by the realization that kids don't always get what they want, and too young to understand that he already owned life's most valuable treasures, that Christmas morning was the beginning of Eddie's dark and painful journey on the road to manhood. It will take wrestling with himself, his faith, and his family -- and the guidance of a mysterious neighbor named Russell -- to help Eddie find his path through the storm clouds of life and finally see the real significance of that simple gift his mother had crafted by hand with love in her heart.

Based on a deeply personal true story, The Christmas Sweater is a warm and poignant tale of family, faith and forgiveness that offers us a glimpse of our own lives -- while also making us question if we really know what's most important in them.

5 out of 5 stars The Christmas Sweater by Glenn Beck   January 8, 2009
This book reminded me of some things that happened in my early life, I grew up on a farm. I just finished reading where it got very sad. I had to stop reading for a while, too many tears! I can't wait to finish it, Glenn said there would be a more cheery area. It is so much like what real life really is about.

2 out of 5 stars Entertaining but lacking substance   January 8, 2009
Altough the book was certainly entertaining, I wonder whether those experiences should have had a different effect on Mr. Beck, maybe grow up a little more open minded? a little less rascist? but then again... maybe the novel is not based on his experiences at all, and in that case I give it one more star!

5 out of 5 stars The Christmas Sweater   January 8, 2009
I was very moved when I read The Christmas Sweater.
I listen to Glenn Beck on the radio,on my way to the YMCA on most week days. That is when I heard of the book that he had written.
I don't really know if the book is about him, I do suspect that it is though.
It was the perfect read for the holidays,as it really brings you to the bare basic meaning of the holiday.

5 out of 5 stars "You won't be disappointed"   January 7, 2009
As a big fan of Glenn, I might be a little biased. I wasn't sure with this book, what to expect.[I'm used to his comedy] This book, however, hit me in a different way. First book I ever read cover to cover in one sitting. Great story line, and a very smooth and fast read. Well worth the price.

2 out of 5 stars It wasn't awful, but it wasn't what I hoped it would be   January 7, 2009
I really enjoy Glenn Beck when it comes to political issues, but this book wasn't at all what I thought it would be. It was too mystical for me, and the writing didn't bring any life to the story. I think there is still a good message in the book, and there were parts that I enjoyed, but overall it wasn't for me.
